StrokeBook ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, display name, email address, and gender. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google profile information (name, email, profile photo).

Golf Data: We collect golf round data you enter, including courses played, scores per hole, putts, and round dates.

Profile Photo: If you upload a profile photo, it is stored locally on your device.

Device Information: We may collect device tokens for push notification delivery via Firebase Cloud Messaging.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To provide the core scoring and companion features
• To display your profile to other users (if your account is public)
• To send push notifications about round invitations and companion requests
• To calculate and display your golf statistics
• To process support feedback you submit

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your golf scores and profile information are shared only with:

• Your companions: Users you have accepted as companions can see your public rounds and profile
• Round participants: Players in the same round can see each other's scores
• Public profile: If your account is set to public, other users can find you by display name

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted communication (HTTPS) and secure authentication (JWT tokens). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase Cloud Messaging: For push notification delivery (Google)
• Google Sign-In: For optional social authentication (Google)

These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the My Page section of the app. When you delete your account, all your personal data, rounds, and scores are permanently removed from our servers.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data through the app
• Update your profile information at any time
• Set your account to private to limit visibility
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Opt out of push notifications through your device settings

8. Children's Privacy

StrokeBook is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
